2500	When Windows saves files to disk, it tries to save them in contiguously in the free space that is available.  However, as you use your system more, these files tend to get split up on the hard drive.  This causes Windows to take longer to locate the file since it must go to multiple locations.  This, of course, results in a speed degradation on your system.

3501	By defragmenting your hard drive, all of your files will be in contiguous locations.  This allows Windows to access your files faster, since it won't have to look all over the hard drive to get them.  This results in a speed improvement while you work in Windows.
3502	Microsoft ScanDisk is a utility that can fix common problems in your file system.  The utility will run, diagnose any errors that may occur, and prompt you to fix them.  Refer to your Windows documentation for more specifics.
